Nonprofit Museum Brings WWII Plans to Danville
Danville, VA -A traveling World War II museum has landed in Danville. The Collings Foundation is a nonprofit flying museum.
They are bringing three WWII planes to Danville Regional Airport. The planes were used as strategic bombers during the war. One of the planes landed Monday and the other two, fighter jets, are supposed to be here by Tuesday.
You can pay $12 for adults and $6 for kids to see the planes or you can ride in the planes, but that will cost you a little more.
They will be here until Wednesday and they say it is a once in a lifetime experience.
"We love to see the WWII vets because they really have an attachment to these planes and they bring their families so their families can see what they flew and fought in," said Frank Hale, Pilot.
