No Charges in Bedford Fire Truck Crash
Bedford, VA - No charges will be filed in the December 1 fire truck crash in Bedford.
Bedford Police Capt. Jim Bennett says the department consulted with the Commonwealth's Attorney, who did not feel charges are warranted.
Bennett says the fire engine was being operated above the speed limit, in an emergency situation, while responding to a brush fire call on Peaks Road.
Four firefighters in the truck were taken to the hospital, but are back on duty.
The engine is being repaired.
