Nice Weather Brings Out Big Crowd for Green Legs and Hamstrings Race
Danville,VA-- Danville Parks and Recreation held their annual Green Legs and Hamstrings race at Angler's Park.
Of course, several people came out in Dr. Suess costumes. Although it has a light hearted theme, the race was a little harder than usual this year. It wound through the woods, across creeks and up several hills. But today's beautiful weather helped runners hit their strides.
"This is a great way to get people out and get people moving," said Bryan Price, Danville Parks and Recreation Program Director. "The winter is getting ready to end and people want to get outside and want to get moving and so this race is kind of a way to wake them up from their hibernation and come on out and run a little bit."
Runners competed in a 5K, a 10K, and even a half marathon.
