Lynchburg, VA- Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and his wife, Callista, made a stop at Liberty University Saturday to sign copies of their books.
Before the signing, Mrs. Gingrich read her book-- Land of the Pilgrims Pride-- to a group of kids. The Gingriches signed books and spoke with visitors for about two hours.
Newt Gingrich calls Liberty a world class institution. He says his relationship with the Falwell family stretches all the way back to 1979, when he was working in the House of Representatives.
"To me, it's very natural to come here. Our books are about American patriotism, religious liberty, the role of God in the American life and I think that fits precisely with the Liberty view of life," said Newt Gingrich.
After the book signing, the Gingriches stayed to watch the Liberty football game.
