New Report Sheds Light on Hunger in SW Virginia
Roanoke, VA - More than 12% of people who live in southwest Virginia are at risk of hunger. That's according to a survey from Feeding America, the nation's largest hunger-relief organization.
The findings come from the third annual Map the Meal Gap study, which estimates how many people don't know where their next meal will come from.
The study found there were more than 147,000 people in southwest Virginia who fit that description.
