New Fire & EMS Station in Roanoke Gets $5,000 Donation

Roanoke, VA - First responders in Roanoke got a donation Wednesday morning at the new Fire-EMS Station 1 on Franklin Road Southwest.

Officials received a $5,000 grant from the Fireman's Heritage Fund and Wells Fargo Insurance.

They will use it to buy another thermal imaging device. They have five right now but need 10.

The devices have a range of uses - including seeing where hot spots are inside homes, locating bodies during swiftwater rescues and finding missing people.
