New Book Shows Historic Photos of Danville

Danville, VA - Two history lovers from Danville have created a book that's a blast from Danville's past.

Clara Fountain and Gary Grant put a pictorial book together called Danville Revisited. The book has hundreds of pictures of Danville from the early 1900s.

Fountain got most of the pictures from an estate sale, and others from the Danville Historical Society and the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History.

They had a book signing this afternoon.

"That's what we did with this book was to pay homage to the photographers, particularly to those who had studios, portrait studios, but who went outside the door to take pictures of Danville buildings, street scenes, events, happenings," said Fountain.

The book is available at Karen's Hallmark, Attic Hound and JR Cheap Books and Stuff in Danville.
