Nelson Co. Woman Charged With Arson & Murder Related to House Fires

Nelson Co., VA -A Nelson County woman is facing multiple charges, accused of setting multiple homes on fire and killing a man in one of them.

Linda Blackwell of Lovingston is now charged with arson, obtaining money by false pretenses and felony murder.

According to the Commonwealth's Attorney, those charges are connected to a house fire in August 2009 when a man named James Shelton Sr. died from his fire injuries.

Blackwell is facing arson charges for two more fires, both on Creekview Lane.

One happened in February of last year, and the other was in May of this year.

She is being held without bond.
