Neighbors Speak Out On Discovery Of Bodies In Bedford County
Evington, VA - According to neighbors on Tucker Terrace in Evington, an elderly woman lived at the home on the property where Bedford County Deputies say they discovered two bodies on Saturday.Deputies though have not said if she is the woman who was discovered.Quiet and nestled at the very end of Tucker Terrace, 2478 a white house and barn and with a small sign reading "Overstreet-Wildman Homeplace."That is where Bedford County Deputies say they found two partially decomposed bodies Saturday. A woman's body found in the yard and a search would reveal the body of a man and a dead dog as well."Like I say, she walked sometimes up the road and I would meet her when I was walking" said Floyd Daniels.Daniels, a neighbor, confirmed that the woman that lives at the home on Tucker Terrace is 73 year old Ruby Wildman Laughon. Her name, according to Virginia Agriculture documents is registered to the address."We'd talk, she'd comment on roses in the yard and stuff like that. She seemed to be very nice, very nice" said Daniels.Deputies said a concerned neighbor notified them that they hadn't seen "the woman and her son who lived there, for several days.""She's got a son as far as I know because. I remember her coming up there and getting something at Christmas time and she said it was for her son" said Daniels.Deputies have not said if the owner of the property was the woman discovered on Saturday. The bodies that were found are at the Roanoke Medical Examiner's office to determine identification.
