Martinsville, VA -- Tuesday marked another step toward economic recovery in Martinsville. Officials announced that another business will soon be opening.
A Virginia law firm that handles delinquent tax collections will create about 20 jobs over the next few years. Taxing Authority Consulting Services will be located on the third floor of the BB&T Bank building.
Operations begin by the end of this year and will serve much of Southside.
"We put value on every job. And as we are rebuilding our economy, the only way that we're going to do that is one job at a time," said Mark Heath, President and CEO of Martinsville Henry County Economic Development Corporation.
Officials say that while this is good news, they need help from state and national budgets to keep lowering the unemployment rate.
