Bedford, VA - There will be fireworks after all in Bedford, just not on July 4.
After hearing the city would not be paying for a fireworks show this year, the Bedford Moose Lodge decided to put on a display.
All of the fireworks vendors were already booked for Independence Day, though, so the show will be the next night on July 5.
"After the show and we have time to evaluate and see how it went, we've already been asked would we consider making this an annual thing, so it's a lot of opportunities we could do," said Moose Lodge Administrator Andy Dooley.
The show is free to the public and will start around 9 p.m. behind the lodge on Route 460.
The organizers are still working out all the details, but hope to run a shuttle from overflow parking at the Thaxton Community Center to the Moose Lodge.
