UPDATE: Man Arrested In Montgomery County Admits To Fatally Stabbing Grandparents
UPDATE: Montgomery Co., VA - According to police, the 19-year-old man arrested in Montgomery County on Sunday has acknowledged he fatally stabbed his grandparents last weekend in their rural, western Maryland home.
Joseph Minoglio told police he put the knife in the dishwasher before driving 200 miles in his grandparents' car to Montgomery County, Va.
He turned himself in there early Sunday morning.
According to police, investigators found the blood-stained knife in the dishwasher of Joseph and Peggy Minoglio's home in Keedysville, Maryland.
Minoglio's mother told investigators her son has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and that he had been acting strangely since his medication was recently changed.
She told police she had dropped her son off at the grandparents' house on Saturday, the day they were killed.
Montgomery Co., VA - Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff's office nabbed a suspect Sunday who was wanted in relation to a double homicide out of Keedysville, Maryland.
19 year old Jospeh William Minoglio was taken into custody on two charges of Murder in the First Degree, two charges of Murder in the Second Degree, two charges of Assault in the First Degree, and two charges of Assault in the Second Degree.
Investigators from the sheriff'soffice are working with the Washington County Sheriffs Department in Maryland to help with that investigation.
Each of Minoglio's charges were out of Maryland and he was also served with a fugitive warrant out of Virginia.
He is currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail with no bond awaiting extradition back to Maryland.
