The Red Devils senior was the fan favorite. She received the most votes from online viewers. Heath, who also competes in volleyball (she'll play for William & Mary next fall) and track & field, helped lead Rustburg to the Division 3 state quarterfinals for the first time since 1982.
In addition to excelling in the classroom - she attends Governor's School and has a 4.2 GPA, Heath led the team in virtually every statistic. She averaged 14.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.7 steals, 3.5 assists, and 2.5 blocked shots a game.
Heath, a 4-year varsity player, also had 11 double-doubles and ended her career with 1,258 points.
This season she was selected 1st Team All-District and 1st Team All-Region. In one of her memorable moments, she hit a shot just inside the half-court line to send Rustburg into overtime in the first round of Regionals against Northside.
Coach Kim Trent says, "Michelle is the best all-around athlete I've ever coached in my career here at Rustburg. The impact she's had on all the sports programs at Rustburg will be remembered for years to come. She's served her teams as an unselfish team player with a great attitude. She made everyone around her better."
