MDA Lockup in Lynchburg Raises $68,000
Lynchburg, VA - A lot of people were put in jail Wednesday in Lynchburg, all part of a massive fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).
"Jailbirds" had prison-issued uniforms and did their time behind bars. Their hands were even chained together.
The MDA jailbirds had to raise enough money to bail them out.
The proceeds from Wednesday's event go to help those suffering from muscular dystrophy, like 11-year-old Daniel.
"Anything that can help my child get out of that wheelchair, and walk, and be as close to a normal kid as possible.... would be a dream come true for us," said MDA Volunteer Denise Sterne.
MDA officials said the event raised $68,000.
