McAuliffe Criticizes Cuccinelli on Domestic Abuse Legislation

Harrisonburg, VA - Terry McAuliffe is criticizing rival Ken Cuccinelli for not backing the renewal of the Violence Against Women Act.

McAuliffe said Tuesday that it was another issue where Cuccinelli is way outside the mainstream.

Cuccinelli was one of three attorneys general who did not join a bipartisan push to reauthorize the law. Cuccinelli says he does not sign such letters endorsing legislation because the bill can be amended.

Former President Bill Clinton, joining his longtime pal and former Democratic National Committee chairman, says that reasoning doesn't pass the smell test.

McAuliffe and Democrats have been relentless in criticizing Cuccinelli's record on women's issues. The result has been a Washington Post poll that shows McAuliffe leading Cuccinelli 58% to 34% among women.
