Martinsville, VA - You may notice some changes when you get to the Martinsville Speedway this spring.
Work is underway to make improvements to the parking situation for fans. Crews are laying gravel to make aisles through the parking lots on the left side of Speedway Boulevard.
When all is said and done, more than three thousand tons of gravel will be spread. Track President Clay Campbell is excited about the improvements, which will be in time for April's STP Gas Booster 500.
"We're putting in about 2 miles of driveways through there. So it's gonna be a big improvement when the fans show up in April and I think they'll really like it," said Campbell.
Campbell says all of the track's parking areas will eventually be upgraded.
