Martinsville No Longer Highest Unemployment Rate in State

Martinsville, VA - There is some encouraging news for Martinsville City residents.

According to July 2013 Virginia Workforce Connection data, Martinsville City no longer has the title of highest unemployment rate in the state, which they've had for quite a while.

According to the report, Martinsville's unemployment rate is now almost 13 percent, bumping them up one spot on the list. Galax now has the highest unemployment in Virginia at 16 percent.

Lynchburg is at 8 percent, Roanoke is 7 percent and Danville is at 11percent.
