Martinsville, VA - The Martinsville-Henry County SPCA has more litters of puppies on their hands than ever before.
Currently, they are housing four litters and one pregnant pup, that should give birth any minute now. But each of those dogs are a lot of work to take care of and they cost the shelter a lot of money. So, they are hoping for some good foster homes that are willing to take in a mother dog and her litter for six weeks.
The shelter says animal control brought in the mothers in need and now they are overwhelmed with the dogs.
"It's a huge commitment to ask for but its so rewarding. It's really a life and death decision so I'm so grateful for anyone who would even think or entertain fostering an animal," said Nicole Harris, Executive Director of Martinsville-Henry County SPCA.
They have support in place if you become a foster home for these dogs. If you are interested, contact the SPCA for more information.
