Mark Warner and Tim Kaine Refuse Their Federal Pay Checks
Washington, DC - Virginia Senators, Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, are refusing to collect their pay from the federal government, saying as long as government workers are without a paycheck, they'll be without one as well.
Both senators, since the start of the government shutdown have refused a paycheck.
By law though, they must be paid, so Warner has opted to donate his earnings to the Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund which provides emergency assistance to federal workers. Kaine is having his paychecks withheld until the government re-opens.
