Marches Planned This Weekend in Memory of Trayvon Martin

Danville, VA - Groups throughout our area are planning marches this weekend in memory of Trayvon Martin.

Al Sharpton made a plea to cities across the country to march following the verdict in the George Zimmerman trial.
A rally will be held at 6:00 p.m. in Lynchburg Saturday at Monument Terrace. In Roanoke, a march will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the MLK memorial bridge.
On Sunday, Danville will have a march led by a mother who lost her own young son to gun violence.
Her son's murderer was given only ten years in prison. She says she knows the pain Martin's mother is experiencing all too well.
"I still feel like justice wasn't done in my son's case so, I understand completely where she's coming from...I understand. It hurt, " said Jeaniqua Jackson.
The march in Danville will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at Doyle Thomas Park.
