Man Who Had Loaded Gun In Carry On Bag Faces Community Service, Fine

Lynchburg, VA - The man arrested for having a loaded gun in his carry on bag at Lynchburg Regional Airport must complete 50 hours of community service.67 year old Raymond Kern of Bedford, Indiana also had his gun taken away and paid an $81 fine.Kern has a year to do the community service and will get his gun back once it's done. He's a retired judge and flight instructor.TSA agents found the .38 caliber handgun with five rounds on Thursday as the bag passed through an X-ray machine.Airport director Mark Courtney says this incident was a mistake.
