Man Taken to Hospital After Bassett Shooting
Bassett, VA - A shooting injured a man Wednesday afternoon in Bassett.
The Henry County Sheriff's Office says they received a call around 1:07 p.m. stating that an individual had been shot.
The victim reported that he was shot in the right leg and right hand while standing in the driveway of his residence on the 3000 Block of Columbus Drive in Bassett.
ABC 13 Media Partner BTW-21 out of Collinsville sent us a picture of the scene earlier Wednesday.
Law enforcement was not provided with any suspect information.
The victim is identified as Travis Lee Hawks, 26.
Hawks was taken by a family member to the Bassett Rescue Squad and was then transported to the Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County for treatment. He was then transferred to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Officials say Hawks' injuries are not life threatening.
