Man Stabbed Friday Night in Gladys

Gladys, VA - A Gladys man is in the hospital after being stabbed early Saturday morning at his home.

The only description the Campbell County Sheriff's Office is releasing as of this writing is that of an African American man with shoulder-length dreadlocks.

Investigators have identified the victim as Michael Nichols, 52.

The sheriff's office says a little after 2.a.m, they responded to a house in the 1200 block of Crows Road.

Sergeant Jeremy Jones with the Campbell County Sheriff's Office says the victim was holding a "get together" with about 100 people.

Jones says a man then stabbed Nichols in his stomach.

Officials say Nichols did not know the suspect, and the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Nichols was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital by his friends.
