Maldonado Sentenced to 30 Years for 2012 Murder

UPDATE: 3:35 p.m.Lynchburg, VA - Jose Maldonado has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for the stabbing death of Mark Rowley in September 2012. The judge gave Maldonado a 50-year sentence with 20 years suspended.Stay with ABC 13 for further updates.------------------Lynchburg, VA - A Lynchburg man convicted of murder is scheduled to be sentenced this afternoon. Jose Maldonado pleaded guilty this past January.Police say he stabbed Mark Rowley to death on Grace Street back in September of 2012. Rowley's friends say he was walking home from the White Rock market when he got into some sort of argument. Police say Rowley and Maldonado did know each other. Today's sentencing is set for 1:30 in Lynchburg Circuit Court.
