Lynchburg, VA - If you've been on Main Street in Downtown Lynchburg in the last day or so, you might have seen a very big mural taking shape.
Lynchburg Artist Megan Wells was a winner of a contest the Academy of Fine Arts put on where 19 different artists submitted designs to the Academy. Leaders chose Wells' design to put on the side of their building.
Now, what exactly the mural will be is still top secret. But, the artist hopes the community enjoys it when it's all done.
"It's so big and it's so bright and it's so colorful and it's so big, I really just hope that when people drive by they just smile, they're just like, 'Wow, what a cool thing to have in our town,'" said Wells.
The mural costs $23,000, which the Academy got from grants and donations. The hope is to have it all done in six weeks.
