Lynchburg's White Hart Cafe to Re-Open With Help From Volunteers

Lynchburg, VA - The White Hart Cafe in Lynchburg is closed; its doors though, are wide open.

Inside, volunteers are spending time and money to bring the popular coffee shop back to business. The new owner says he was such a fan of the original; he couldn't stand to see the cafe go.

So with a little help from friends, and a lot of help from strangers, the shop is now set to re-open on September 13th.

The owner, Abe Loper, saying new floors, paint, and upgrades could cost tens of thousands, but thankfully the help has been plentiful.

"If I opened that door at 9 o'clock in the morning, I will meet three or four new people that I have never met before in my life who are going to show up and say can I have a paint brush and help, can I scrape something, can I scrub something?" said Abe Loper, the café's new owner.

The cafe will open just in time for the "Get Downtown" Street Festival. If you'd like to donate to the White Hart's rehabilitation, visit this web page that was set up to take donations.
