Lynchburg's Stephen Berry Excited for Sunday at Martinsville
Lynchburg - The first of back-to-back race weekends at Martinsville Speedway begins Sunday with the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 300. The big format change this year, there's no qualifying, you EARN your starting spot in heat races.
The first of the four heat races begins Sunday at noon. The top eight finishers in each 25-lap race advance to the 150-lap feature which should begin around 3:30. The final 10 slots in the feature will be filled through a 50-lap last chance race. One of the drivers chasing first-place money of 25 grand is Lynchburg's Stephen Berry, who'll drive Barry Beggarly's 82 Chevrolet sponsored by Liberty University.
Stephen Berry, Lynchburg late model stock driver, said "He's let me race a few times for him and we've had great success. I think we're on the same page when it comes to me telling him what the car's doing and him making the proper adjustments. And I've almost won the Martinsville race with him, the Virginia is for Lovers 300 a couple of years ago with him. So I think he thinks we're a great fit together and I think we have great chemistry."
