Lynchburg Veterans Displaced by Virginian Closing

WWII Veteran Earl Washington

Lynchburg, VA - At least two veterans will have to find new places to live by the time The Virginian apartments in Downtown Lynchburg closes.

World War II veteran Earl Washington and Vietnam Veteran Kirby Siple have until the end of August.

Residents have been given $325 housing vouchers, but there's already a waiting list for those apartments.

"I've got to sort of hit the streets. Check around, make phone calls," said Siple.

There are housing counselors on site at The Virginian to attempt to place residents in new homes.

Monument Terrace Troop Rally organizer Steve Bozeman says they will also help these veterans with rides to find new apartments.
