Lynchburg Tribute Planned for Fallen 911 Firefighters

Lynchburg, VA- Lynchburg is hosting a special 911 memorial next month to pay tribute to the New York firefighters who died trying to save others.

It's called the "911 Memorial Stair Climb" and it's being put together by the Fire Foundation Inc. of Lynchburg, Central Virginia Firefighters Association and the National Fallen Firefighters Association. They're hoping to have 343 people participate, one each for the 343 firefighters that died on September 11th. Participants will climb the stairs in the Bank of the James building until they've gone 110 flights to signify the number of floors in the Twin Towers.
