Lynchburg Tennis Team Wins National Championship

The API Funds 5.0 plus team from Lynchburg won the National Championship Sunday in Indian Wells, California. They defeated Texas 2-1 in the finals.

The team was represented by Mark Vines, the head tennis pro at Oakwood Country Club, Drew Robinson, the director of tennis at Boonsboro Country Club, Peter Pristach, the head pro at Boonsboro, Kyle Allen and Tommy McDonald, both of Salem, Youssef Bouzidi and Derek Myers, both of Roanoke, and captained by Dave Basten of Lynchburg.

The team won six matches all by the score of 2-1.

This is the highest level of team tennis sanctioned by the USTA
