Lynchburg Soldier Gets Surprise Homecoming

Lynchburg, VA - There was an emotional reunion Wednesday at the Lynchburg Regional Airport as a soldier returned home.

Jason Davis spent the last 10 months in Kuwait and Afghanistan serving as an Army Chaplain.

Davis left for duty four days shy of his daughter's first birthday. His wife, Alana Davis, helped organize a surprise celebration with friends and family at the airport. Some drove from as far away as Georgia to surprise him.

Jason Davis made his way past security, locked eyes with his wife and the two embraced for the first time in months.

"I don't have words to describe it, emotionally overwhelmed," Jason Davis said of the surprise.

He said he looks forward to having 'no agenda' and spending time with his family.
