Lynchburg, VA- Principals in Lynchburg will now have to create a new school improvement plan to keep tabs on their progress.
The improvement plans are part of Superintendent Dr. Scott Brabrand's Comprehensive Plan, and it will soon be a state requirement for all schools in the commonwealth. Each school will have to provide a plan showing how they will improve student academics, behavior, and cultural needs.
At Tuesday's school board meeting, members will hear plans from E. C. Glass High School.
"I think it's so important that you stay focused on important. The example I like to give is you can be the best quarterback in the NFL, but if you aren't constantly trying to improve you will regress. You can have to be focused on that especially when you are working with children," said Kevin Latham, director of Secondary Education for Lynchburg City Schools.
School board members will also discuss new teacher evaluation procedures. The meeting starts 5:30 p.m. at the School Administration Building.
