Lynchburg, VA - Lynchburg Regional Airport is one of three in the state that will host a "Women Can Fly" event this month.
The Virginia Department of Aviation says that women make up only 6 percent of the U. S. pilot population.
The events will include a chance to talk with pilots and attend sessions on how planes fly, how to become a pilot and other topics.
The first Women Can Fly event is this Saturday in Warrenton.
Lynchburg's will be June 29th.
