Lynchburg, VA - Police say dozens of people in the Lynchburg area are getting phone calls from telemarketers claiming to be from a Medical Alert Company.
During the call, people are prompted to press "1" for one option or "5" for another. The callers are also asking for personal information, police say.
Police warn that pressing the numbers may result in unwanted charges on your phone bill. They say if you get the call, not to press any numbers on your phones key pad, and not to give the callers any personal information.
You can check with your phone provider to see if you can report the caller or block them.
