Lynchburg Police Help Raise 'Dough' for Special Olympics

Lynchburg, VA - Lynchburg Police parked a cruiser outside of CiCi's Pizza in Candler's Station Shopping Center Tuesday as part of a fundraising effort for Special Olympics.

For a one-dollar donation, people were able to help cover the cruiser with icons.

Officer Bryan Williams will have to pull the icons all off, but says that's nothing compared to what some of the athletes face.

"It's encouraging to see them. We think sometimes we might have something difficult going on in our lives, whatever it might be, and then to see someone who truly has something hard they have to deal with every day and it doesn't make a difference to them. They excel despite that," Williams said.
