Lynchburg Police Car, Cab Collide

Lynchburg, VA - A Lynchburg police officer and a cab driver were both taken to the hospital after an accident Wednesday.The accident happened near E.C. Glass High School around noon and caused several detours. Police say the police cruiser, driven by Officer L.M. Hughes, had its lights and sirens on answering a call when it was hit at the intersection of Memorial and Langhorne. Police say Allied Cab driver, 41-year-old Kimberly Dyke of Lynchburg, hit the officer. Both were treated at the hospital for minor injuries. Both cars were totaled. No charges have been filed and the accident is still under investigation.
