Lynchburg Men's Lacrosse Beats W&L 11-8

Lynchburg - The 10th-ranked Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team outscored number 19 Washington & Lee 3-0 in the second quarter to grab the lead and never gave it back in posting an 11-8 victory Wednesday night at LC's Shellenberger Field.

Austin Stewart led the Hornets with four goals while Rob Arnold had three goals and one assist. Cam Lewis, Tyler Goldman and Christian Zanetis paced the W&L offense with one goal and one assist each.

Washington & Lee led LC 3-2 after the first quarter before the Hornets scored three in the second to take a 5-3 lead into halftime.

Lynchburg improves to 10-4, 5-1 in the ODAC and hands the Generals their first conference loss. Washington & Lee is now 8-5 overall, 5-1 in the ODAC. Roanoke leads the ODAC standings at 7-1, with Lynchburg, Washington & Lee and Hampden-Sydney all at 5-1.

Lynchburg plays host to Randolph-Macon Saturday night at 7 on Senior Night. Washington and Lee returns to action Saturday afternoon when it hosts Virginia Wesleyan at 1.
