Lynchburg Man Sentenced in Campbell County for Sex Crimes With Minor

Lynchburg, VA - A Lynchburg man who is already in jail for sex crimes with a minor will serve even more time after being sentenced Wednesday.

A judge in Campbell County sentenced Phillip Nelson to life in prison for sodomy, indecent liberties and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Some of that time was suspended, so Nelson will serve 28 years.

The prosecutor tells us the charges involve the same victim as cases in Appomattox and Farmville. In this case, it happened in a vehicle in the Gladys area.

Nelson was sentenced in Appomattox and Prince Edward Counties earlier this year. He is set to be sentenced in Lynchburg next month.
