UPDATE: Lynchburg Police ID Man Who Died After Falling From Balcony
Lynchburg, VA (AP) - Authorities have identified the man who died Saturday after falling three stories from a balcony as 63-year-old Donnie Bryant Sr.Lynchburg Fire Department Capt. Diron Martin says the accident occurred at a building on the 1300 block of Jefferson Street, which is being converted into apartments.Bryant was the owner of D.L Paint Contracting Company and was a sub-contractor for Jamerson Lewis Construction Company, according to Lynchburg Police. Police say a balcony railing gave way when Bryant leaned against it. Police say the man suffered two broken legs, a head injury and an injury to his right side. He died while being transported to Lynchburg General Hospital. The accident is being investigated by Lynchburg police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.Bryant's body was sent to the Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy to determine if any medical issues played a factor in the fall.
