Lynchburg Man Charged With Impersonating FBI Agent

Lynchburg, VA - A Lynchburg man is in jail after police say he pretended to be an FBI agent to break into a house on Wards Ferry Road late Tuesday night.

Adam Beeler is charged with impersonating a police officer, breaking and entering, and destruction of property.

According to police, Beeler even told the officers who arrived at the home that he worked for the FBI.

"At this point, we don't have any reason to believe he knew the individuals inside the residence. We think it might have been a combination of the narcotics or intoxicants he was under the influence of that caused him to do these things," said Captain Ryan Zuidema with the Lynchburg Police Department.

Police say Beeler was not wearing a police uniform or carrying a badge.

Beeler is being held without bond at the Lynchburg Adult Detention Center.
