Lynchburg Humane Society Trying to Catch Up in Rachel Ray Challenge

Lynchburg, VA - The Lynchburg Humane Society is hoping to pick up the pace in its Summer of 1,000 Lives campaign.

The organization is among 50 competing since June 1 in the Rachel Ray $100,000 challenge. As of Thursday afternoon, Lynchburg had adopted 281 animals, and stands at 17th overall-- which isn't bad out of 50.

In their size division they're in 3rd place, behind Angels of Assisi in Roanoke. There's still a month and a half to go, and Lynchburg has more specials planned, hoping to at least win their division for a cash prize.
