Lynchburg, VA -Community members in Lynchburg gathered at a very fitting place to honor our veterans.
A crowd of around 300 came out to Monument Terrace to pay tribute Monday.
The steps showcase a memorial for every war since the Civil War.
The tribute included the singing of the national anthem, taps and rifle salute.
Local veterans say it's always touching to see how everyone comes together to show their support on this day.
"All of these different little communities and counties there out their today celebrating and honoring the troops who are serving and those who have served," said Steve Bozeman, a Vietnam veteran.
This year's speaker was Lieutenant James Lusk, a Vietnam veteran.
