Lynchburg, VA - The parking deck next to the Holiday Inn Select in downtown Lynchburg is slated to open all its spaces soon.
A part of the deck got shut down when an overweight truck drove on it last summer. The city owns that deck and the hotel manages it.
Tuesday, city council agreed on a bidder to fix the garage for around $182,000. The city will use money from the reserve fund, as well as the reimbursement expected from a lawsuit against the trucking company that did the damage.
The hotel manager is eager to get the parking back.
"150 spaces are leased out, so we can run in to some problems with that, so it will be such a great pleasure to have those 40 odd spaces back in service," said Tony Camm, manager, Holiday Inn Select.
Work on the deck could start the end of March. But council needs to take one more vote on this at its next meeting.
