Lynchburg Councilman Perrow on National Committee
Lynchburg, VA - Lynchburg City Councilman Turner Perrow now has some say in developing federal policy about air and water quality.
Perrow says his engineering background brought him to the attention of the National League of Cities.
He will now be on a steering committee for energy, the environment, and natural resources.
The committee's work could help Lynchburg.
"We specifically talked about Lynchburg, and how much Lynchburg has to pay in order to meet storm water regulations. So, the E.P.A. is considering changing those regulations so it'll cost less for the citizens of Lynchburg to implement storm water polices," said Perrow
Perrow says the best thing is he can give senior federal policy-makers a boots-on-the-ground view of how things are going. So far, he says they have really listened.
