Lynchburg Construction Accident Causes Gas Leak, Evacuations
Lynchburg, VA - A construction accident caused a small evacuation in Lynchburg Friday morning. Crews were doing some excavating work on a sidewalk on Mansfield Avenue when officials say they hit a natural gas line. It was so close to a supply line, they decided to take all of the precautions and evacuate two homes and T.C. Miller Elementary School. There were only a few people in the building since school isn't back in session yet. The evacuation was later lifted and the gas company is making repairs.
