Lynchburg, VA - Lynchburg College is offering registered nurses the chance to get their masters in nursing without completing their bachelor's degree.
The R.N. to M.S.N. Pathway program starts this fall and is the first in Central Virginia.
The college started this to help with the nursing shortage and improve patient care. Lynchburg College joins 173 other colleges and universities across the country offering the program.
The majority of nurses do not have Bachelor's degrees, and college leaders says research shows the higher the education level of nurses, the better the patient care.
