Lynchburg, VA - Lynchburg College is making great progress on their student center expansion.
The construction began just after graduation in May and the center should be completed by fall of next year. Monday the basic support for the building was put into place: steel beams.
"For so long we've been in the ground, we've been putting in our sewer and our water, and our conduits. But today marks one of the significant landmarks of this project where we start putting steel in the air. And that's exactly what's happening today," said Dean John Eccles, who is overseeing the student center project.
The new expansion will have more meeting space, a new fitness center, recreational rooms, a veterans lounge, and new eating spaces.
