Lynchburg, VA - Lynchburg College invited community college students eligible for veterans benefits to attend a special information session Wednesday.
The meeting provided information on undergraduate programs that veterans and their family members may be eligible for.
Admission counselors were on hand to explain the options that are available to vets. Counselors say many veterans don't know the options for attending college that are available to them, and they're there to help.
"Students who want to attend a small private school, like Lynchburg College, often the post 9/11 G.I. bill with the yellow ribbon program would be the only way they can afford it," said Elizabeth Becker, the admissions transfer coordinator.
Lynchburg College says there is no cap to the number of students or the amount of money that is available to qualifying veterans.
