Lynchburg, VA - The rain held out for most of the commencement ceremony at Lynchburg College Saturday morning.
Friends and family gathered in the front lawn of Hopwood Hall on campus.
Organizers say 650 students received their degrees: 510 undergraduates and 140 graduate students.
That also includes 44 people from the college's first ever Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) class. The three-year graduate program was fully accredited in April 2013.
This year's commencement speaker was Ron Mulliken, an advertising executive with media companies. He is currently with Marchex, a leading mobile advertising company.
Mulliken graduated from LC in 1982.
