Lynchburg College Baseball Rips Tufts 10-3
Lynchburg - The Lynchburg College baseball team rode a strong fourth inning that saw the Hornets plate five runs in route to a 10-3 victory over Tufts University in non-conference action held at Lynchburg City Stadium.
Lynchburg sophomore Martin Henderlite worked around three walks, allowing just two hits and two runs in six innings of work for his fifth win this season.
Sophomore Charlie Thieringer pitched the final three innings for LC to pick up his fourth save of the season.
Lincoln Evans led the Hornets with a 3-for-4 day with three runs scored while Ashton Paige, Michael Kenah, Dan Savage, and Jake Tanner had two RBI each.
The Tufts (6-3) duo of Andrew David and Josh Manning combined to strike out eight Hornets in eight innings of work.
Lynchburg (12-10) returns home Saturday for a doubleheader with Southern Virginia University (12-7). First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
